Simple & Effective Cache Extractor: http://planetunreal.gamespy.com/View.ph ... tail&id=91

Here are the file types and where they belong within the folders of the UT2004 folder (when you go to windows explorer or my computer and select your hard drive, you should see the folder). This does not include folders that may be made by certain mods (usually total conversion mods). You can tell the file's type by looking at the letters that follow the . in the file name (ex: blahblahblah.ext. This would be an .ext file. These may not exist so don't worry about them).

- .ukx files belong in the Animations folder.
- Don't worry about the Benchmarks folder.
- Don't worry about the Cache folder.
- .ifr files belong in the ForceFeedback folder, but I've never seen them in mods so I doubt that you will see them either, so don't worry about it.
- Readmes and any pictures that come with a mod, level, etc go in the Help folder, but those files are not necessary to run whatever you are trying to run, so putting the above mentioned files in the Help folder is purely optional.
- .ka files go in the KarmaData folder
- Don't worry about the Manual folder
- Any and all map files go in the Maps folder. These files will usually have the UT logo as their filepicture.
- .ogg files go in the Music Folder.
- readmes can also go into the Readme folder, but again, placing the readme into either of these folders if at all is optional.
- .uvx files go in the Saves folder. This is where your single-player save game files are located. You probably should not see any .uvx files in most UT maps, mods, etc. you are trying to install.
- Don't worry about the ScreenShots folder. This is where the screenshots go when you take them (press F9 anywhere in the game including the main menu to take a screenshot).
- .uax files go in the Sounds folder
- .uc files go in the Source folder. Again, you may never see this filetype when installing UT maps, mods, etc.
- Don't worry about the Speech folder.
- .usx files go in the StaticMeshes folder
- .dll, Configuration Settings (), .dmp, .est, .frt, .int, .itt, .kot, .det (May be called Office Data files), .u, .uc, .ucl, .upl, and .uz2 files (and any other file that may not go in any other folder in the UT2004 directory) all go in the System folder. Most of the time, you will see only .u, .ucl, and .itt files in the mods, maps, etc. you are trying to install.
- .utx files go in the Textures folder.
- Don't worry about the UserLogs folder.
- Don't worry about the Web folder.

Cat's are like that, as you know.....lol.... Exactly what I was looking for. Hang onto that file (I know I will) as I can't find it any where and it's a classic.

Not Sure why I've never seen this. But tonight, I stumbled upon this while sleuthing for vehicles for Dragons new map.

This is a giant resource.

My mouth would water, but alas, I knew not what to do with redirect registries. Had a moment of clarity yesterday, and realized that most probably chuckled as I seek out zipped maps, mods, muts, etc.... It's been suggested many times to me to simply install a cache extractor program and grab maps off of servers. I'm sure this is an effective path, but I don't understand what happens with all that cached volume and eventually, it seems like my computer would be full to the brim with cached stuff. So, I found this tight little program which is essentially the same as winzip or winrar for ut files. For a map hunter like myself, this changes everything. Simple & effective!!!!

That looks to be a neat skin. Hard to tell, but does the skin have a cape? It looks like something is flowing behind it in the bottom picture.

Ah ha! Thanks...That's a much better picture and I can see the Gargoyle clearly now. That is also a must have skin! Only wish the servers could all have it too. Seems to me it's a shame that we're able to produce such nice skins (and a lot of them) yet the servers (not just ours, all of them) can't handle having the skins too. Oh well, such is life in the programming lane...

Thanks Tri!

Thrilled to find this gem: Dr. Seuss like map with super cool custom vehicles. Lol, one vehicle has a hammer that slams with the right click! Snapped these images with "Gadwin." Colors are bright.

It's definitely an R & G Map. Hmmmm. Makes a great Freeze Tag map but one wouldn't really have time to explore the vehicles in that format. If a VCTF server is in the works, this would be a hoot in that format. There are camping spots if you want to see who could possibly sit still on this romp.

Police Sprinter:

Found this beautiful vehicle a few months ago. For race track, and or large flat maps, this vehicle is kick butt! It's super fast, sleek, and goes completely out of control and blows into pieces if you're not careful. I love that!!!

The link I had disappeared. Been searching for about two weeks straight for this darn link. Found it about 22 pages into a thread : http://gearsforums.epicgames.com/showth ... ?p=6428790 Actually enjoyed reading the discussion as this project evolved. Anyway, after many many dead links, I finally found a good one.
